The installation method of JM diaphragm coupling
2025-04-25

Installation method of diaphragm coupling screws:

1. Clean the inner hole of the diaphragm coupling thoroughly and apply engine oil or lubricant.

2. Insert the diaphragm coupling into the installation shaft; If the hole diameter is too tight, be careful not to strike the installation with a hammer or hard metal.

Iii. Tighten and fix according to the specified tightening torque.

4. Tighten the fixing screws in sequence along the circumferential direction.

V. When disassembling, please do so when the device is completely stopped. Loosen the locking screws one by one.

After the positioning is completed, first gently tighten the screws in the diagonal direction with a torque wrench (1/4 of the specified tightening torque).

Seven. Repeat the action with an increased force (half of the specified tightening torque).

8. Wipe the dust and dirt off the surface of the installation shaft clean and apply a thin layer of engine oil or lubricant at the same time.

The clearance between the bolt fit section and the flange small hole fit section of the double diaphragm coupling is generally 0.20mm to 0.30mm according to the bolt diameter. This fit section plays a crucial role in torque transmission. If the clearance exceeds the standard, it needs to be replaced. The gap between the inner hole of the rivet of the buffer sleeve and the bolt diameter is 0.5mm to 0.7mm, which serves to press and position the diaphragm. If the bolts are installed in the wrong direction, it is easy to cause the bolts to be skewed, and the diaphragm will thus be distorted and deformed. Therefore, when installing bolts, it is necessary to pay attention to the direction of the bolts. Do not install the bolts in any direction at will, otherwise it will cause the diaphragm to twist. Long-term operation will cause damage to the surface of the diaphragm and bolt mating section and the small holes of the half shaft section.

When disassembling, first mark the position between the pulley or coupling and the rotating shaft, then tighten the fixing screws and pins, and then slowly pull it out with a puller. If it cannot be pulled out, you can pour some kerosene into the inner hole and then pull it again. If it still cannot be pulled out, use a high flame to heat around the pulley or coupling. At the same time, wrap the shaft with a wet cloth and keep pouring cold water to prevent heat from entering the motor interior.

Ii. During assembly. First, use fine iron sandpaper to smooth the shaft holes of the rotating shaft, pulley or coupling. Align the pulley or coupling with the keyway and put it on the shaft. Place a piece of wrought iron or hard wood at one end of the key and gently tap the key into the groove. The key in the groove should be neither too tight nor too loose. If it is too tight or too loose, it will damage the key and the groove. If it is too loose, it will cause the belt to slip or vibrate.

After selecting the correct coupling, it needs to be installed. During installation, the position of the coupling should be correctly adjusted to achieve a good alignment state, which can extend the service life of the coupling as much as possible.

The specific steps for correctly adjusting the coupling:

1. Fix the outer support foot on the motor side of the coupling and move the inner support foot until the eccentricity line between the motor and the pump center is zero. To prevent the motor from moving freely, after fixing the feet on one side of the motor, the other side should be supported with a set screw.

Second, fix the inner support feet of the coupling and move the outer support feet to make the eccentricity of the two center lines zero.

After repeating the above two methods several times, the coupling can be in a good centering state.
